What the memo covers

For every finding the diagnostic flags, LedgerClean drafts a memo with the same shape: what the issue is, what the correction is, the affected accounts, the proposed entry, and a one-line justification a reviewer or CPA can read at a glance. The memo is the paper trail that lives on the JE so anyone reviewing the file later understands why the adjusting entry was made.

Memos are generated by Claude with category-specific prompts and a strict output cap. Vendor and customer names are passed through; structured PII (SSNs, EINs, account numbers, emails, phones, addresses) is stripped before any data is sent to the AI, and your client's business name is replaced with a generic label.

The memo generator runs on the same detector output as the rest of the diagnostic, so the memo set is consistent with the findings list and the proposal PDF.
